Due to a growth in service, we have an exciting opportunity for a strong and motivated Theatre Nurse or ODP to join our AfPP accredited perioperative team as a Theatre Practitioner. You will be a key member of our multi-disciplinary Theatres team, working within scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery to ensure the highest standard of clinical care and safety for patients within the theatre unit. This role is ideally suited to a registered Theatre Nurse (or ODP) with proven experience working in fast paced theatre environment, who is patient oriented with a focus on continuous service development. Your working hours will be 37.5 Hours per Week, covering 4 days between Monday and Saturday 07:45 – 17:45, working 1 Saturday per month. Role Responsibilities Work primarily as a scrub practitioner, with the occasional need to work as an anaesthetic or recovery practitioner (once full training is given if required). Assess and implement patient care requirements and evaluate outcomes. Communicate effectively with other departments e.g. Sterile Services, Wards, Imaging Department to ensure effective and smooth-running patient care. Ensure that patients’ comfort, dignity and privacy are maintained at all times. Ensure that your own practice and the practice of others is within an ethical and legal framework. Person Specification Be a qualified and registered Practitioner (RN or ODP). Have post-registration clinical experience as a Theatre Practitioner / ODP in an acute hospital (NHS or independent). Have evidence of continuous professional development and its application. Experience of planning, organising and running the daily workload in a theatre suite, including the supervision of staff.
