The University of Exeter is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow to support the faculty’s research on the Economics of Energy Innovation and System Transition (EEIST) and the Leverhulme Centre on Climate Change Mitigation (LC3M). Designation:

Exeter, Hybrid Possession of a relevant PhD (or nearing completion for Associate) or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field such as

physics, economics, ecology, applied mathematics, engineering, or other

related quantitative fields of study. Ability to operate and develop large, data-intensive and dynamical models representing human and/or physical/natural systems. Strong mathematical and programming skills, experience in data management, statistical analysis, and non-linear dynamical systems simulations. Demonstrated ability to define research objectives, projects, and proposals, identify sources of research funding, present at conferences, write academic papers, and contribute to securing funds. Sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programs. Excellent communication and collaborative work skills, including the ability to supervise the work of others and act as a team leader as required. Job Description: The successful applicant will be responsible for collaborating with Drs Jean-Francois Mercure and Femke Nijsse on the EEIST and LC3M projects. This involves improving and expanding the E3ME-FTT model, working with stakeholders to answer new policy questions around energy, climate change, and sustainability. Additionally, they will contribute to the study of climate change mitigation through enhanced weathering to capture CO2 emissions and sequestrate those through natural processes. Other responsibilities include model development, writing reports, academic papers, presenting at conferences, engaging with government officials, and contributing to other ongoing projects. The post is initially for 18 months, with the possibility of extension subject to funding availability.
