The opportunity for the Mental Health Support Worker will be primarily based on supporting students in the classroom with their mental health. These students have trouble processing and regulating their emotions, stemming from childhood trauma, which can cause stress, anxiety, and depression. You will help them to process and regulate their emotions. The school is looking for an individual who is patient and ideally has a passion for mental health. You will be shadowing the class teacher and providing support with general classroom duties. You will also have the opportunity to be surrounded by like-minded individuals and professionals in the education and mental health field. The successful Mental Health Support Worker:
The successful candidate will need to be open-minded, resilient, confident, and determined to help others. You must be flexible and able to adapt your role to fit the needs of each child. Previous experience working with children with mental health needs is desirable but not essential. A good attitude is most important, and you must be passionate about making a difference. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable and rewarding experience while making an impact and being exposed to various teaching methods and techniques to help children with their mental health needs. You will also have the chance to shadow other professionals in the field and explore other specialties.
