Assessing Social Worker (Fostering)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assessing Social Worker to join Nexus Fostering's team covering the Midlands and surrounding areas. Main Purpose This Role will be pivotal to the Recruitment and Assessment Process ensuring timely responses and outcomes for potential fostering households. It will be the link for the fostering households throughout the assessment process in conjunction with and working closely with the local teams. Responsibilities Completing Form F assessments across your area for applicants interested in fostering and for current foster carers wishing to transfer to Nexus Fostering. Preparing high quality Form F assessments within set timescales, ready for QA and panel. Supporting with the QA of fostering assessments to ensure these are completed to the required level in preparation for panel. Completing Initial Visits to potential applicants and preparing reports from the visit, where professional judgement and decision making will be essential. Supporting local teams with the delivery of Skills to Foster training. Managing a case load of up to 7 fostering assessments at one time, organizing work and managing time effectively to see tasks through to completion. The successful candidate will need to be motivated, disciplined, highly organized and able to work to tight deadlines. Strong presentation skills and a confident articulate style are essential for the running of the Skills to Foster course and attending fostering panels. Sound interpersonal skills with proven experience of completing evidence-based and high-quality analytical assessments is essential. The successful applicant will also need to be able at times to work flexible hours to fit with the availability of foster carer applicants, which may include evening and/or weekend working. The role will be home based. The ability to travel in a timely and effective manner across your region will be essential, therefore this role is subject to holding a full UK Driving Licence.
