About Us
The family and adolescent support team is a multi-disciplinary team working with young people aged 11+ where the main area of need is related to extra-familial harm e.g exploitation, radicalisation, and peer on peer abuse. We work with young people at the edge of care where there are concerns relating to their mental health and substance misuse, and also young people 16 and 17 presenting as homeless. We work to prevent young people being admitted to hospital due to their mental health and support return home following a period of hospital admittance (tier 4).

The post will offer you the opportunity to: Work creatively and collaboratively within a multi-agency team and with partner agencies. Work intensively with children, young people and their parents/carers within a contextual framework. Develop skill base and knowledge in relation to adolescent mental health, substance misuse, contextual safeguarding, and extra-familial harm. Build strong and stabilising relationships with children, young people, and their parents/carers. Work within a framework which ensures statutory timeframes are met and plans are outcome focused. Offer support and guidance to Family Support Workers and oversee interventions. Respond to risk in a timely manner and ensure appropriate safeguarding actions are taken.
