About Us

Here in Swindon, we're transforming the way we support children and families. Since implementing the Family Safeguarding Model in 2022, our multidisciplinary approach has driven real change in child protection. This innovative system allows us to focus on supporting the whole family, helping children remain safely at home and within their communities.

Our Social Care & Leadership Academy ensures every team member's potential is nurtured. We invest in growing talent, offering mentoring support, manageable caseloads, reflective supervision, and high-quality training opportunities. For newly qualified social workers, our established ASYE programme provides robust support for starting your career.

About the Role

We have exciting opportunities for Qualified, Experienced, and Advanced Social Workers to join our Assessment and Child Protection Team.

What You'll Do:

Work as part of a dynamic team organized into PODs, with each POD consisting of four social workers and an Assistant Team Manager. Undertake statutory assessments and child protection investigations during duty weeks (1 in every 5 weeks). Develop tailored support plans to ensure smooth transitions for children requiring ongoing support, whether within the community or through Family Intervention and Support Services. Make a real difference by joining a welcoming, supportive team that sets high expectations for the children we serve.

What We Offer: Monthly reflective supervision sessions to support your professional development. Opportunities for career growth through training aligned with the BASW competencies for career progression. A collaborative, nurturing work environment that values your contribution.

About You

We're looking for passionate individuals with: A degree or diploma in Social Work and full Social Work England registration. A strengths-based, child-centred approach and a value-driven commitment to supporting children, young people, and families. Excellent interpersonal skills to engage and motivate families in challenging circumstances. Strong assessment, analysis, and planning capabilities, coupled with an ability to share your knowledge with colleagues.

If you're as passionate about Children's Services as we are, and you're ready to contribute to meaningful transformation, we'd love to hear from you.

What We Offer You Relocation allowance of up to £8,000 (eligibility criteria applies). Competitive salaries. Free car parking at our central Swindon campus and easy commuter links. A commitment to work-life balance and personal development through our Social Work & Leadership Academy.
