JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am an 81 year old lady living in the Penarth area with my husband and our dog. I like to go out for coffee or to the country park. My previous interests used to be tennis and golf. I am seeking a personal assistant to take me to my appointments, some of which are locally based and others are in the Heath hospital. I will need support with socially interacting when in the community, as I suffer from anxiety and depression. I am incontinent but I manage that myself. I require a personal assistant who has experience and knowledge of mental health as I feel that if I have anxiety when I am out, you will be able to understand and I will make you aware I will have to leave the place.

PURPOSE OF JOB To assist and support me in my home and in the community.

PLACE OF WORK At home and in the community.

HOURS OF WORK 3 hours per week (Tuesdays 2-5pm)

RATE OF PAY £13.50 per hour. Blue Disabled Badge can be used when using own vehicle.

TASKS INVOLVED To take me to any appointments. Going out for a coffee or to the country park. Occasionally go clothes shopping.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED Someone with shared interests. A person who is friendly and chatty. Someone who has a good sense of humour. Knowledge and experience of mental health. Driver required and an option of using blue badge. Someone who is punctual and reliable.

ABOUT THE JOB Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.

Thank you
