Psychological Professions Lead - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services - North Yorkshire, York and Selby Care Group The Psychological Professions Lead role has two primary related roles: the professional leadership and development of the Psychological Professions workforce and contribution to multidisciplinary collective leadership at the service management level. With the premise that decision making is devolved, and that leadership is there to cultivate the talents of those within the Care Group, to optimise the quality of care and to ensure that the strategy of the Trust is delivered. They will be responsible for supporting the Associate Director of Therapies and General Manager with the delivery of the trust strategy and the business plan, supporting service transformation and service delivery to achieve quality standards and embedding co-production with service users and carers. Main duties of the job

As part of the collective leadership team at the service management level, the Psychological Professions Lead will provide leadership and oversight of the Psychological Professions Bands 4 - 8c within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services within the North Yorkshire, York and Selby Care Group. This pivotal role offers specialist psychological leadership across the framework of the i-Thrive model. It is expected that the leadership component will comprise 3 days per week of this role. They will lead and contribute to CAMHS care group and trustwide service transformation, working with the collective leadership team, Clinical Networks and corporate colleagues to embed key aspects of the transformation agenda, the Long Term Plan and partnership priorities and represent the professions on strategic groups as appropriate. The Psychological Professions Lead will be accountable for their own professional practice in the delivery of highly specialist care to children and young people and will offer 1 day per week clinical work into a clinical service. Qualifications

For App Psychologists: Post-graduate training (doctoral level equivalent) in clinical / counselling / forensic psychology (or its equivalent prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS and HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist. AND Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practice. AND Trained in clinical supervision and the supervision of doctoral trainee psychologists. AND Trained in coordinating complex packages of care and assessing and managing risk. AND Evidence of continuing professional development. For Psychological Therapists: RMN/RNLD, AHP or Social work core qualification. Masters Qualification. AND Registration with a professional regulatory body (HCPC, GMC, NMC or Social Work England). (If a different regulatory body please seek advice from Head of Psychological Professions). AND For Psychological therapists: a qualification that provides eligibility for accreditation in one of the four Governed Psychological Therapies detailed in the table below. Registration with BPS or other professional body. Training in leadership. Skills

Provide effective clinical leadership to teams across the service based in multiple sites across the locality and demonstrate operating at a strong level across the following 5 dimensions of the Healthcare Leadership Model. Communicate highly complex, highly sensitive and highly contentious information effectively, to a wide range of people. Adapt creatively the evidence base for interventions in mental health for clients with communication difficulties / learning disabilities. Provide consultation to other professionals and non-professional groups. Articulate the value added by applied psychology services within the context of multidisciplinary mental health and learning disability healthcare provision. Undertake complex multi-agency working and liaise with multiple systems. Utilise psychometric tests competently. Provide effective teaching, training and clinical supervision for the multidisciplinary team. Identify, provide and promote appropriate interventions / means of support for carers and staff exposed to highly distressing situations and challenging behaviours. Utilise appropriate clinical governance mechanisms within own work. Project Management. Use approved breakaway techniques. Use multimedia materials for presentations in professional, academic and public settings. Knowledge

Doctoral level knowledge of: Evidence-based practice relevant to the role. Risk assessment and risk management. Clinical governance. Knowledge of legislation in relation to the client group and mental health and its implications for clinical practice. Audit and research methodology. Social Inclusion agenda. Highly developed knowledge of: The care of difficult to treat groups e.g. dual diagnoses, additional disabilities or severely challenging behaviour. Quality Assurance and Governance agenda.
