02/01/2025, 23:55 hours This is an exciting time to join the MMO as we play our part, in line with our vision for ‘A prosperous future for our seas, coasts and communities’, in delivering the new government’s mission with a focus on growth, net zero, and protecting and enhancing the marine environment. The Strategic Renewables Unit (SRU) sits within the MMO’s Marine Development (Domestic and International) Directorate, alongside the Marine Licensing Team, Marine Planning Team, and the Global Team. Working within the Strategic Renewables Unit which supports our planning and licensing functions, you will focus on our strategic approach to offshore renewable energy (particularly offshore windfarms). The role will: Help to address short, medium, and long-term priorities for the MMO in the context of government ambition for net zero, green recovery, and associated policy development. Engage with other parts of the MMO, government contacts, and stakeholders. Contribute to the functioning of the SRU, including piloting an enhanced integrated way of working across both Planning and Licensing teams. Have an initial focus on offshore wind. Selection Process
