My client is looking for an experienced Qualified Dispensing Optician with experience of working in a busy environment and a large team who can make a difference with their dispensing abilities and mentoring skills.

Minimum Requirements: – Must have at a minimum 1-year experience working in a retail opticians. – Must have completed the Dispensing Optician course and be GOC registered. – Must be able to dispense to all levels. – You will be able to work 4 or 5-days per week including a weekend day. If you do not meet the above requirements, your application will not be taken further.

This is a permanent full-time position working within one of the most trusted optical brands in the UK. This practice is well established with a long-standing and loyal customer base which has shown strong growth over the last few years. The store is modern and well equipped but is also undergoing a re-fit in Oct 2024. They offer all services including MECS and are the optician of choice in the local community.

The practice has several test rooms and a large team of 20+ staff, all of which are supportive and work closely together to create a positive working environment. Practice hours are 8:45am to 5:30pm in the week, 8:30 to 5:30 on a Saturday and 9am to 4pm on Sundays.

Responsibilities of the Qualified Dispensing Optician Your role will be to work as one of the lead dispensers within the practice. You will handle the majority of children’s and complex dispensing and you will use your expertise and clinical experience to troubleshoot and deal with any issues as they arise. As a senior member of the team, you will help junior members of the team and help them to stay up to date with the latest optical developments. There is also the opportunity to develop and potentially go on to become a Contact Lens Optician.

Requirements of the Qualified Dispensing Optician

At least 1 year of experience as a Qualified Dispensing Optician ideally within a busy practice.

The ability to dispense to all levels.

A friendly and personable demeanour and strong personal work ethic.

A customer-focused approach to your work and the ability to build a strong rapport with customers and colleagues alike.

Compensation for the Qualified Dispensing Optician On offer, depending on your experience is a salary of up to £35,000. Bonus scheme – team-based bonus. Fees included. Free parking. Progression and development.
