Registered Children’s Manager

We are looking for a Registered Manager for our service in Hexham.

Registered Manager immediate start - Working Monday – Friday - 37 hours per week.

3 - 6 months cover required - there may also be an opportunity for a temp – perm role.

Interim Manager - Happy to discuss rates.

Temp – perm – Up to £35.00 per hour depending on experience.

Salary up to £49,400 + £700 on call allowance if interested in Temp to perm role.

Our Client is looking for interim cover:

It’s a new service in Michinhampton, a small village on the outskirts of Gloucestershire.

The service is a forever home for a young person with complex needs and a high level of behaviours that challenge, with a care ratio of 4:1.

The service will provide the young person with a home for life, supporting them to integrate into the community as much as possible and achieve supported independence as they transition into adulthood. The young person is 16 years old and will be moving into the service come January 2025.

Qualifications and Training

Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (and Scotland SVQ Level 4 Management & Leadership); or an equivalent Level 5 Diploma as defined by the DFE Guide to Children’s Homes Regulations, 2015.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Personal maintenance of professional qualifications and evidence of ongoing management training and development.

Knowledge and understanding of the CQC regulations, OFSTED (Scotland-Care Inspectorate) requirements.

Satisfactory fit person interview with Ofsted (or Scotland-Care Inspectorate).

Flexible approach to working hours and to cover on-call arrangements if necessary and participate in the on-call manager rota.

Current driving license.

Use Microsoft Office packages and management information systems.

Creating an inclusive service, in terms of meeting the needs of the children and establishing a workforce that further enables an inclusive environment.

Developing and managing stakeholders’ relationships, both internal and external.

Demonstrable experience of motivating and leading by example to improve outcomes.

Demonstrable experience of working with children and young people who exhibit very challenging behaviours.
