The Orthopaedic Therapy team are delighted to offer 2 new Rehab Assistant posts supporting the Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.

There would be opportunity to rotate between the Trauma Orthopaedic and the Elective Orthopaedic wards.

There will be regular training opportunities tapered to individual needs, working within a supportive and friendly multidisciplinary team, and with a wide variety of patients and their families.

16 January 2025

Responsibilities: To work alongside the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist. To deliver Therapy to a complex caseload on the ward. To independently manage a designated caseload of patients defined as non-complex within a specified clinical area, providing assessment and interventions on behalf of the Therapists within predetermined guidelines. To deliver and fit assistive equipment in the patient’s home as directed by the therapist.

Our staff oversee over 6,500 patient contacts every day, delivering high standards of healthcare from the following sites: Freeman Hospital Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) Health Innovation Neighbourhood (on the former Newcastle General Hospital and Centre for Ageing and Vitality site) Newcastle Dental Hospital Newcastle Fertility Centre Northern Centre for Cancer Care, North Cumbria Northern Genetics Service Cramlington Manor Walks

These include a range of flagship services which deliver cutting-edge care (supported by state-of-the-art diagnostic services in both radiology and pathology) and are a catalyst for innovation to support pioneering clinical practice in the NHS.

We also have offices at Regent Point in Gosforth and community sites.
