We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to become an integral part of the Planning Applications Team in Development Management. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the processing of planning and other applications in accordance with relevant legislation, with a focus on major planning applications though it may also include less complex applications that are contentious. You will also be responsible for the preparation of statements and evidence for planning appeals and attendance at hearings/inquiries. Further responsibilities include but are not limited to: To deputise for and support the team leader as and when appropriate. To provide timely, expert and impartial advice to colleagues, councillors and consumers of the service. To contribute to the effective enforcement of planning control. To contribute effectively to the functioning of the team particularly the supervision of junior officers. You should possess a degree in Planning and have substantial knowledge and experience of the subject in practice.
