Law firm in Essex, well-regarded for its work in Planning law, is seeking to recruit a Planning lawyer with 4 or more years’ PQE. The team is divided into six main practice areas: Local Government, Housebuilder, Environmental, Strategic Land, Highways, and Rights of Way, as well as Compulsory Purchase and Development Consent Orders. Their expertise includes planning, rights of way, environmental, and highways.
The successful candidate will be given significant responsibilities, with the opportunity to manage their own caseload and play a crucial role in growing the practice. You will provide professional, proactive, high-level legal support to an allocated group of fee earners and the wider fee-earning team. The role focuses on delivering high-quality planning advice to local planning authorities, housebuilders, and developer clients.
Experience in Planning, Environmental, Highways, CPO, and Public Access law is preferred. However, it is acknowledged that these areas are broad and complex, meaning many candidates may have limited experience in some of these fields. A willingness to learn about areas where there is no experience is essential.
The role also involves working with the leadership team from time to time, assisting in the design, delivery, and implementation of system changes, workflow and process improvements, as well as being involved in business development activities to promote both the planning department and the firm as a whole.
