Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in Medical Inpatients

We are looking for a part time (34 hours per week) dynamic and highly skilled clinician experienced in all aspects of medical inpatient rehabilitation. A forward-thinking clinician with the skills to combine highly specialist clinical practice with innovation you will be committed to following best practice and the promotion of high-quality physiotherapy services. The successful post holder needs to be flexible, motivated, and committed to put the patient's strengths, voice, choice and control at the centre of any interventions. As the clinical specialist for the acute medical wards you will have demonstrable leadership qualities, excellent communication and time management skills with proven abilities to build networks across sites and disciplines. Through your knowledge of emerging clinical advances within the speciality, you will be expected as part of the senior clinical inpatient team to advise the Operational Manager and Senior Management team to inform future service development.

Main duties of the job The post is based in the Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport but may support other sites within ABUHB if the service needs require. The post holder will clinically lead a team of static and rotational staff, HCSW and students. They will work closely with the clinical lead and band 7's across the neighbourhood (Newport and Torfaen) and ABUHB wide. The successful candidate will be expected to provide training, education, supervision and appraisal for staff and students, locally and across the service. As part of the role, you will contribute to the development of professional practice and the transformation and evaluation of service delivery and support research and innovation agenda. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post. English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
