Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities

Newton Ward currently supports all wards across the Sefton, Liverpool, and Kirkby footprint and provides psychiatric intensive care services to the whole of the Mental Health Division. Newton Ward is a 12-bedded mixed ward based at Clock View Hospital that provides short-term intensive assessment, treatment, and support to service users experiencing a mental health crisis. Upon joining our team, you will undergo both mandatory and bespoke training to equip you with the skills required to work within our psychiatric intensive care environment. Person Specification

Qualifications

Registered Mental Health Nurse Experience

Knowledge of relevant Mental Health legislation Knowledge of Mental Health Nursing interventions Knowledge of clinical risk and Health & Safety Management Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team Demonstrate knowledge in the concepts of mentorship, preceptorship, and supervision Values

Accountability Respect Support High professional standards Responsive to service users Engaging leadership style Transparency and honesty Discreet Change oriented Skills

Able to communicate effectively both verbally and non-verbally Possess excellent listening and negotiation skills Ability to contribute to developing nursing excellence within the ward area Other
