We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Nurse with excellent leadership skills and relevant experience to join our team of Ward Managers within the Neurosciences Directorate. Ward B7 is a 25 bedded emergency neurosurgical ward, part of the Greater Manchester Neurosciences Centre at Salford Royal. We are looking for a highly motivated nurse with shared values to join our Ward Manager team. This is a unique exciting opportunity to join a team with vision, drive and ambition. You will have extensive post registration experience and ideally nursing management experience. Previous experience working in the field of Neurosciences is desirable but not essential. A passion for high quality care and continually improving patient and family experience is essential as are excellent interpersonal skills. We view leadership as key to our success; therefore you should be able to demonstrate this throughout the recruitment process. You must be able to motivate staff to achieve high standards, and possess excellent communication skills to ensure that the aims of the organisation are achieved. Main duties of the job

You will need to ensure that as well as providing clinical leadership, and taking responsibility for direct staff management and the running of the ward, you have the ability to meet deadlines and the skills and desire to manage care within budget. You should also be politically aware, be able to create vision for the team, and influence change in the clinical area. In addition, the patients' needs will always be at the centre of any focus that you have. You will also be expected to provide evidence of how your leadership skills have positively affected team dynamics and improved clinical standards within your current role. Duties include: Establish and maintain effective communication with individuals and groups about difficult or complex matters overcoming any problems in communication Develop knowledge and practice in an area of work Promote best practice in health, safety and security Contribute to the development of services Promote people's equality, diversity and rights Assess people's health and wellbeing needs when those needs are complex and change across the caseload Plan, deliver and evaluate programmes to address patient's complex and changing health and wellbeing needs Lead work teams in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice Allocate, coordinate, monitor and assess the work of teams and individuals Maintain and support the efficient use of physical and/or financial resources About us

Qualifications & Registration

Current NMC registration. Degree level studies or equivalent portfolio of evidence. Post basic qualification in specialty. Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Evidence of clinical and managerial expertise and knowledge acquired through CPD and experience. Evidence of involvement and leadership in teaching and mentoring learners. Evidence of involvement in the development of protocols and clinical audit. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
