Principal Civil/Highway Engineer
Location: Newark Salary: £60k-£65k plus benefits Do you want to join a design and engineering consultancy that handles large projects through consulting, construction, and compliance? Our client is seeking a Principal Civil/Highway Engineer to join their busy team in Newark. As a Principal Engineer, you will be working in a growing UK Highways Sector and you will have a strong track record on highway projects working with contractors and/or end clients on large highway schemes. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams of Engineers, Technicians, and external suppliers to deliver high-quality output on projects, front clients, and liaise with project stakeholders as required. Candidates will need to be a Chartered Engineer with the relevant UK bodies and must have significant experience in highways design alongside practical knowledge and experience of highways design standards, specifications, and CDM regulations. You must also be experienced in the digital delivery of highway schemes in a BIM environment. Candidates must have at least 5 years of UK highways experience and a minimum of 8 years of highways experience overall. Requirements:
Project experience in highway design Detailed highway alignment design AutoCAD skills are essential with Civil3D (or similar) and/or MX capability Highway Drainage network design Sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) S38 and S278 Highways design, negotiation, and technical approval Cut/Fill assessments and earthworks volumes Utility coordination, networks, and strategies Good skills with MS packages including Excel and Word If you are an innovative thinker who can demonstrate experience in a client-facing role, with excellent written and verbal skills, we want to hear from you.
