Job summary

We are seeking to recruit for exciting development posts for newly qualifying Psychologists to begin their career in CAMHS.

We are a friendly and supportive service, passionate about supporting children and young people and extremely proactive in supporting the skills and professional development of our staff.

In these posts, you would have the opportunity to work in our specialist pathways Family Therapy, DBT, and Children in Care alongside developing your skills in core psychological interventions working with children and families.

We are keen to give a rich and empowering experience to newly qualified staff and help you identify where you may want to develop specialisms in the future. We will support post-qualification training, ensure you have weekly supervision, and lots of opportunities to work jointly with others in the service.

You would follow a preceptorship plan to support you in your transition from a trainee to a confident and highly skilled psychologist.

The base is flexible (Worcester, Redditch, Hereford, Malvern, or Kidderminster) and this will be agreed upon appointment.

Main duties of the job

Working alongside other Psychologists, CAMHS practitioners, and other clinicians offering psychological interventions to CYPs and their families. Assessment, formulation, consultation, and intervention for CYPs with an emphasis on child-centred and evidence-based care for those with moderate to severe mental health difficulties using a range of psychological interventions that best meet the needs of the YP and fit with the CAMH service criteria. This includes direct work with the YP, family, or consultation/liaison with the network surrounding the child. You would be supported to develop specialist expertise with an active CPD plan. Work in collaboration with managers and senior clinicians (appropriate to the stage of your career development) supporting the MDTs through case discussions, formulation, and care planning, as well as carrying a caseload. Job responsibilities

In collaboration with the Service Lead for Psychological Interventions, develop and support the implementation of psychological interventions and psychologically informed practice based on best clinical and professional evidence in accordance with the objectives of the Trust and the Service Delivery Unit. Hold a caseload of patients with varying levels of complexity, providing psychological therapies. Promote excellent psychological practice by staff and provide clinical leadership to professionals who practice psychological approaches. Undertake risk assessments and risk management of individuals presenting with vulnerability, self-harm, and/or physical, sexual, or emotional harm to themselves or others. Provide clinical and research supervision and training to other staff as agreed with the service lead/manager. Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

BSc/BA Honours degree at 2:1 or above in Psychology Postgraduate Doctorate in Clinical/Counselling Psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS Evidence of regular continuing professional development through further professional training and experience, as required by the HCPC and the BPS Eligible for registration as a Chartered Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling) by the BPS Registered with HCPC as a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at the point of offer.
