8B Principal Clinical Psychologist
to join our local Youth Justice Service based within Suffolk County Council. This post offers the opportunity to work indirectly, supporting teams and practitioners within their direct work; and offers many opportunities to promote and enhance psychological knowledge, understanding, and practice. Please note this role will support the Youth Justice Teams based in both Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich.

Main duties of the job
Providing clinical supervision to YJS practitioners, and staff involved in working with young people displaying Harmful Sexual Behaviour. Providing consultation to YJS practitioners to indirectly support the delivery of interventions. Facilitating psychologically informed case formulations with CYP's professional networks. Providing a key role in supporting continuous staff development through bespoke training and support as identified, to help upskill the teams in assessment, formulation and intervention delivery. Working in conjunction with operational managers to support consistency with practice. Providing a key role in team containment, working with professional systems, having difficult conversations, managing team emotions, thinking clinically and systemically simultaneously. Providing and contributing significantly to the psychologically-informed practice of the team with a focus on quality, efficacy and increasing improvement.
