You’ll play a key role in supervising and developing both qualified and unqualified nursing staff, ensuring high standards of patient care. As an Orthopaedic Staff Nurse, you’ll act as a mentor, role model, and clinical supervisor, contributing to the professional growth of your team while delivering high-quality care to patients. Key Responsibilities Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care programmes for patients. Deliver care in line with the ward’s philosophy and organisational policies. Regularly coordinate ward activities and oversee the performance of nursing staff. Support newly appointed staff through orientation, induction, and ongoing supervision. Act as a clinical supervisor and mentor, helping to develop skills and competencies within the team. Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in line with professional standards. Ensure the highest levels of care by adhering to evidence-based practices. Take part in regular appraisals and performance reviews to support personal and professional growth. Actively participate in training and quality improvement initiatives. Requirements To be successful in this role, you will need: Active first-level NMC registration. Experience in multidisciplinary teamwork, including effective communication with service users, carers, and colleagues. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks independently. Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development. Proficiency in administering intravenous medications. A comprehensive portfolio aligned with Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF) criteria.
