This is a full-time appointment for 3 Specialty Doctors to work across our general-adult (adults of working age- AOWA) inpatient wards. Successful candidates will be working with a multidisciplinary team consisting of consultant psychiatrist, psychiatry/foundation/GP doctors in training, advanced nurse practitioners, nurses, occupational therapists, psychologists, and support workers.

Job responsibilities: Clinical Roles:

Attend ward rounds, conduct reviews, and create management plans for patients on the ward. This includes chairing ward rounds and making decisions about patient care in the absence of the consultant, seeking advice from the covering consultant when appropriate. Complete, review and authorize discharge summaries as required. MHA work including preparation of tribunal reports and presenting evidence at the tribunal hearings. Assess and manage physical health for patients on the inpatient wards.

Leadership roles:

Participate in leading clinical decision making in the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality care. Be involved in developing service clinical priorities in line with national and professional guidance and standards. Be involved in clinical governance related activities such as audits and quality improvement projects.

Educational roles:

Provide supervision and support to doctors in training working with the team. Provide teaching to medical students and doctors in training working in the trust.
