This role is ideal for people who are interested in developing their skills working with pupils with autism and complex learning/communication needs. The Children's Therapy team consists of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. Therapists work in multi-disciplinary/multi agency teams across the borough of Wandsworth. We have a range of working parties to ensure we are utilising best practice including: Diversity and Inclusion Developmental Language Disorder We are very proud of our inclusive and proactive team of therapists and assistants providing evidence based and informed intervention to Wandsworth's children. Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent HCPC registration and RCSLT registration Experience
Relevant experience post qualification working as a Speech and Language Therapist Relevant post graduate experience in assessment and intervention of children aged 4-11 years with a variety of speech, language and communication difficulties in school settings Experience of providing clinical supervision Experience of delivering trainings/courses to education staff Knowledge
Comprehensive knowledge of the National Curriculum and SEND Code of Practice Extensive knowledge of appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant to the client group eg. Narrative therapy etc Demonstrated knowledge of principles of effective working with families and application to practice and demonstrated ability to engage with and work effectively with parents and carers Skills
