Excellent opportunity for an experienced vet paying up to £60,000 in a practice that can support your development. Due to one of our brilliant vets relocating abroad, we have an exciting opportunity for a small animal vet to join our fantastic team at Hartlepool Vets4Pets. Open, friendly supportive team who enjoy spending time together socially. We have a large variety of cases allowing you a lot of exposure to different procedures. This is ideally a part-time role but if you are wanting full-time, we can consider this. Salary up to £60,000 (pro rata DOE). We are a welcoming, friendly and open team led by our Practice owners and veterinary surgeons Kathryn and Joanne. They are supported by 2 full-time and 1 part-time vet, an experienced nursing team of 5 RVNS including practice manager Leighanne, 1 SVN, 2 VCAs, and an experienced reception team. Some of our nurses are currently working towards certificates in surgery and anaesthesia. As a team, we pride ourselves on the high standard of care we provide in practice and also in providing an environment where our team can develop, feel confident, and get enjoyment from their work. We hold weekly ‘huddles’ which give all team members the chance to contribute to our protocols and ensure we are working in the best way possible for everyone. We also enjoy spending time outside of work together and recently took a trip up to Edinburgh together to enjoy the Christmas markets. For the rest of the year, we have a socials board so we can keep regular get-togethers planned and never miss celebrating a team member's birthday. Due to the interests of our vet and nursing team, we have a significant surgical caseload and in addition to the variety you would expect in general practice, we also see several small furries. Our days are a mix of consults and surgery, and we are happy to arrange the diary so you can get exposure and continuity of the cases or surgeries you want. We can also accommodate a consult-only position if this is something you would prefer. Our diary includes appointments set aside for ‘on the day’ and ‘emergency’ appointments and is arranged with plenty of catch-up time so that you have the chance to write up notes, call clients, and work up cases to a high standard. Working overtime is rare but if you do, this will be paid or you will be given time back in lieu. This practice is happy to accommodate either full or part-time hours depending on what you are looking for. We are also happy to discuss a flexible rota to fit around your commitments. We are ideally looking for someone happy with routine consults and surgery. We are open 6 days a week, 8:30 am – 7 pm Monday- Friday and 9 am-12 pm on a Saturday and are closed Sundays. Our weekend rota is 1 in 4 (potentially 1 in 4 for an experienced vet) and no OOHs will be required. We welcome overseas vets and offer fully funded visa sponsorship and help with relocation both in finding somewhere to live and offering a relocation package. We also hold twice yearly pay reviews. Our stand-alone practice is based in Hartlepool, a seaside town in the North East of England. We are lucky to have excellent transport links and enjoy the amenities that come with living in a large town while being really close to some beautiful countryside, in particular, the North Yorkshire Moors. As you would expect from the market leader in small animal veterinary care, we offer an excellent benefits package including: Excellent career and development opportunities. Salary up to £60,000 (FTE, DOE). 5.6 weeks holiday increasing to 6.6 after 2 years of service. Generous CPD and funding of certificates for the right candidate. Paid memberships (RCVS, BVA, VDS). Exclusive company discounts and rewards, including 20% off The Vet Group. If you want to join a really fantastic team who are passionate about providing the best care possible to our patients, this is an opportunity not to be missed! For an informal chat about the role or to find out more, please contact Rach at our support office on northvet@vets4pets.com and someone will get back to you within 1 working day. Location: TS25 1QF Pets just see people. They aren’t biased and they don’t discriminate. We take our inspiration from pets, and we value and respect difference in all its forms. Our aim is to reflect the diversity of the communities we operate in, and every colleague can help us achieve this. We encourage our people to be themselves, so even if your skills and experience don’t perfectly align, if you think you can make a unique contribution through your values and behaviours, we want to hear from you!
