About BEAR Scotland BEAR Scotland is a trusted alliance between three renowned companies – Vinci, Jacobs, and Breedon. Together, they manage two of Scotland’s four Trunk Road Maintenance Contracts (South-East & North-West) for Transport Scotland. In addition, BEAR Scotland leads two major DBFO contracts: M80 Stepps – Haggs and A92 Dundee – Arbroath. The Opportunity A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join BEAR Scotland as a Trunk Road Incident Liaison Officer. The role involves mobilising an effective response to incidents across the Trunk Road network 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ensuring the safety and efficiency of Scotland’s key transport routes. This role will be based within BEAR Scotland’s Perth office. The position requires working a 4-on-4-off shift pattern to monitor roads 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including both day and night shifts. Key Responsibilities As a Trunk Road Incident Liaison Officer, you will: Assist in monitoring the impact of incidents on journey times for road users. Support the management of severe weather incidents and winter maintenance operations. Liaise with emergency services and trunk road incident support units. Deploy emergency and winter maintenance crews. Monitor road conditions and weather reports. Update databases and maintain accurate records of incidents and responses. Your Skills and Experience We are looking to hear from candidates who possess the following skills and qualifications: Essential: Excellent communication skills. General IT proficiency. Ability to remain calm under pressure. Desirable: Experience in a similar role within an Emergency/Roads Authority or Utility Control Room environment. Why Join BEAR Scotland?
