A Carer is required for an active, happy, young lady with special needs. She lives by herself in an independent house, and a staff bedroom is provided. The client is physically able; however, she needs additional assistance with day-to-day tasks including:

Personal care:

Minimum personal care is required as she is quite independent in this area. Assistance with preparation and serving of daily meals. Overseeing of dressing, washing, and grooming:

She is capable of doing this herself but needs prompting and support. Administering medication. Household tasks:

Such as grocery shopping, keeping the house tidy, and an interest in gardening would be preferable as she has her own garden, vegetable patch, and greenhouse. Social and emotional support:

Attending and organising recreational activities. Transportation:

A full driving licence is required as a motability car (automatic) is provided. However, train and public transport are also encouraged when appropriate. Encouraging independence:

Allowing the client to do as much of her own care and daily activities as possible. Evening socialisation:

The client likes to socialise in the evening. The applicant would be required to provide support to go to the theatre, cinema, and pub. A love of animals:

Required as the client volunteers weekly at a local animal sanctuary and regularly visits a number of animal parks. Physical exercise:

Encouraged as much as possible (e.g. walking, swimming, and the gym). The client is a member of a leisure club and attends regularly; therefore, any applicant would be required to swim and gym with her. The applicant must be caring, patient, calm, and have the ability to use their own initiative. They will be expected to work as part of a team with other carers. The role is initially approximately 24 hours per week, with one day shift, and the possibility of additional hours. Minimum wage with an overnight allowance and 6 weeks annual leave pro-rata. There are 2 vacancies available (seeking 2 people for a 24-hour shift each).
