Our band 6 rotation is a dynamic mixture of rehabilitation and fast paced acute work across two sites that makes this an ideal rotation to broaden expertise in a variety of different clinical fields. The rotation posts are between 7 and 9 months in duration and span across: Older Adults- acute short stay admissions; Stroke Hyper Acute Stroke Unit and Stroke Rehabilitation Respiratory Medicine Emergency services (ED); Acute Frailty Assessment unit Level 1B Consortium Neurological Rehabilitation unit - Frank Cooksey based at Orpington Hospital Frailty rehabilitation unit - based at Orpington Hospital Neurosurgery and level 2B neuro rehabilitation- based at Orpington Hospital This post has access to funds to attend external opportunities, as well as access to a comprehensive library and computer facilities on site. Band 6 Occupational Therapists have regular cross department meetings as part of peer support and networking. There is also opportunity to develop your skills in clinical audit and supervision. Students are regularly on placement from local universities, and as a band 6, this is a fantastic learning opportunity. If you are not yet a Practice Placement Educator, you can be supported in attending appropriate training. Main duties of the job

The mixed rotation scheme offers excellent opportunities for developing clinical skills. You will automatically access high quality clinical supervision from experienced Occupational Therapists across a range of specialisms. We offer a supportive, rewarding and challenging clinical environment. There is an established system for the delivery of clinical governance objectives, CPD and Evidence Based Practice across the service. CPD is encouraged through the Trust appraisal system, as well as through Team CPD Cycles. We encourage journal clubs, formal teaching, skills training and service development, with expectations to lead and participate in these sessions. About us

Please see job description for full description of job and main responsibilities. You must have a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy and be HCPC registered. Experience of treating patients with high levels of complexity and dependency will be essential to this post. The post holder requires a flexible approach to working, including cross sites and be able to undertake weekend working commitments as part of a 7 day working rota. Person Specification

Demonstrate understanding on the role of supervisor and supervisee. Demonstrate and good understanding of the nature of illness and models of treatment and how these impact on the patient Demonstrate an understanding of the systems within departments for the management of patient assessment and treatment.
