This post is for a fixed term of 12 months with the potential to move into a permanent Band 2 HCSW role on successful completion of the apprenticeship programme. This is a work-based training programme, with protected study time to complete a level 2 qualification in Clinical Health Care Support. The programme is delivered on site with our training providers and in the workplace where you will be learning on the job while receiving training from experienced staff. Based in the Cancer Services directorate of the Neath Port Talbot / Singleton Service Delivery Group, you will work under the direction and supervision of Registered Nurses to support the provision of patient care whilst working as a member of the team and maintaining a safe environment. This is a training role within a designated area where you will work alongside colleagues to undertake a range of supervised duties. The post holder will be responsible for following care plans and recording all personally generated observations and documenting care given in individual's notes. Main Duties of the Job

Swansea Bay University Health Board, in partnership with our training provider partners, offers the opportunity to complete a new training programme where you will complete an apprenticeship in Health Care Support at Level 2 based within the Oncology and Haematology Ward at Singleton Hospital. This will consist of a work placement within your allocated ward supported by teaching sessions to ensure that the apprentice has the relevant knowledge and skills to work effectively delivering safe patient care within the Health Board. Candidates should be caring, self-motivated, willing to learn, and have a positive, can-do attitude to be part of a team that delivers high-quality patient care to all. Minimum Requirements

All applicants must: Be aged 18+ for the Mental Health posts Be resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years Not be in any form of formal government-funded education qualifications Have a good general standard of GCSE education or equivalent Not hold a Level 2 NVQ in Health Care Support, a similar subject, or at an equivalent level Not have a Degree About Us
