Are you an LLB, LPC, GDL or equivalent qualification Graduate looking to take your first step into law? Or, do you have 6 months or less of Litigation Executive/Paralegal experience and are looking to build upon your skills within a multi-award winning law firm? Then look no further, the Motor team is looking for a Litigation Executive to join our Manchester office! What will you be doing? This is a great opportunity for a Litigation Executive who is looking to build upon their litigation experience, as you will be dealing with mainly litigated small claims/fast track case load and will assist other Litigation Executives as and when required with an average case load of 100 files. Having previous litigation experience dealing with claim handling, preferably a defendant case load, is desired. Some of the responsibilities you will be required to carry out include drafting documents, applications, offers, orders and directions, attending telephone conferences, and managing cases in line with SLAs. You will also be reviewing quantum, valuing general and special damages, formalising case plans, entering into telephone negotiations, and liaising with third party solicitors, insurers, own insurer clients, and lay clients. This is what the Hiring Manager, Raheema, says about the role: "The Motor volume area is a fast-paced, high-volume department dealing with a range of cases. You will be working alongside a friendly and approachable department who will share their skillset and knowledge to help you succeed in the role, leading to a number of opportunities for progression. This role would be a great opportunity for someone with an enthusiastic and positive attitude to be a part of a great team and a firm with exciting times ahead." What do I need? Ideally, you will have experience handling a defendant litigated caseload, but we are also open to speaking with individuals who have litigation experience and an eagerness to learn and develop in the Motor field of work. Alternatively, you will have completed a law degree/GDL/LPC or equivalent qualifications. You will need to bring an enthusiastic and self-motivated attitude with a desire to achieve and exceed targets, combined with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ability to demonstrate initiative and creative problem-solving is desirable. We would like to see a strong work ethic and a commitment to being a team player. We are a close-knit and stable team that likes to share ideas and experiences with a view to achieving the best results for our clients. Progression As a firm, we are fully committed to nurturing and growing talent, and part of that is recognizing the results of an individual’s work and rewarding high performance. Progression isn’t just limited to qualification. Many people within the Motor department have had the opportunity to be promoted into management and operational positions and/or develop as technical specialists. We have several routes for progression, from Training contracts, Graduate Legal Apprenticeship, and pathways to becoming a Team Leader. All our training contracts are offered internally, and the firm offered a total of 28 training contracts in 2021/2022, a proportion of those are within the Motor and Casualty department. Above all, the firm values potential. If you are inquisitive, hardworking, and passionate about achieving great results, HF is a great place to develop your career. What’s in it for you? We are not your stereotypical corporate law firm. We offer flexible working and have a relaxed dress code; you can be yourself at work! We continue to place a firm emphasis on investing in our people and promoting internally, and we are always looking to invest in and grow our people. We’re always looking to recognize and reward our people for the work they do. Here are just a few of the benefits you’ll have access to as part of our team: 25 days’ annual leave (in addition to public holidays), increasing to 30 days with service Company pension scheme Enhanced parental leave Cycle to Work scheme Life insurance and income protection Employee Assistance Programme & Digital GP service Season ticket loans HF Discounts Hub About the Company HF is one of the UK’s leading providers of legal and handling services to the insurance and commercial sectors.
