Meadowview surgery are looking to recruit a receptionist/administrator to join our friendly team, working up to 24 hours per week, which will be a mix of morning and afternoon shifts. If you have a caring nature, are a great team player and a willingness to go above and beyond, we would like to hear from you. General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience and offers excellent communication skills. Main duties of the job

Answering the telephone, taking messages and passing them on appropriately. Manage the reception desk ensuring surgeries run smoothly and efficiently. Processing all requests for repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines. Checking patients records and issuing reminders for long term condition reviews/blood tests etc. Be able to cover all reception/administration tasks as necessary. Typing referral letters/Choose & Book referral letters. Process appointment requests by telephone and in person. Taking requests for home visits and ensure they are recorded and processed correctly. Liase with hospitals, primary health care team, social services, etc. Computer data entry updating patient records/working remotely/send digital information to patients and directing patients to digital platforms. Open/close the practice as and when necessary ensuring the reception, office and consulting rooms are prepared in readiness for the morning session. Maintaining confidentiality at all times. Receive patients and visitors courteously and efficiently. All staff are required to take their share of providing cover, when necessary for colleagues who may be absent due to holidays or illness. Meadowview surgery is a training practice with a growing patient population of over 6200 patients. We are a 2 GP Partner practice which is a supportive and happy environment. We are part of the TABA PCN and work collaboratively with other member practices. Job responsibilities

Job Summary: Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way. Provide general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone. Qualifications

GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths. Experience

Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients and colleagues at all times. Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations. Ability to work as part of a team. Strong IT and administration skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience in a similar customer/patient facing role. Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues. Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience. Experience in Healthcare setting. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
