This friendly, established nursery school in Uckfield is looking for an Apprentice to join the team. You’ll receive £7,000 worth of training absolutely free and be paid between £9.00 and £10.50 per hour, depending on your age and experience. The floor-based Manager will mentor and support you as you learn the skills you need to launch your career as an early years professional. You’ll work between 32 and 40 hours a week of which 20% is paid training time. You’ll be an important member of the team and contribute fully to the care and education of the children. Over your time with us you will have the opportunity to work with all ages – from babies to four- and five-year-olds – so you can decide which age you want to work with. Irrespective of the area you are working in, you will support a Key Person, and as such your responsibilities will include: Getting to know the children and their individual developmental needs. You’ll develop a strong bond with the children and become an important part of their life. Helping the children learn new skills and independence. You will be taught how to teach and you will be encouraged to use your new skills to engage with the children. Planning the children’s activities. Our paperwork is kept to a minimum so you can spend time with the children. Candidate requirements: Level 2 learners will need GCSEs in English and Maths. Art and Music would all be an advantage. Level 3 learners will need A Levels. You’ll need to be articulate and confident. You’ll support a Key Person so you’ll need to be capable of developing a partnership with parents. Rewards and benefits: A training course, worth £7,000, delivered by an external training partner at no cost to yourself. You should be qualified in no more than 18 months.
