General Practice Nurse – March 2024

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated General Practice Treatment Room Nurse to join our team at Denton Village Surgery. We are a friendly practice situated in rural South Northants, between Northampton and Bedford but also within easy travelling distance of Milton Keynes and Wellingborough, serving approx 6,200 patients. Are you a motivated and enthusiastic Practice Nurse with experience in Primary Care? Do you have experience in leg ulcer management, compression dressings and in delivering standard NHS travel immunisations and childhood vaccinations? If you are a General Practice Nurse looking for an exciting new opportunity within a forward-thinking environment, then this may be the role for you! We are looking to welcome an experienced, qualified General Practice Nurse to assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate treatment programs for our patients. Along with our team of doctors, you will be working alongside our two Nurse Prescribers, a fellow Practice Nurse, HCA, Phlebotomist, and our wider Primary Care Network team made up of Paramedics, Clinical Pharmacists, Physio and Social Prescribers. We are looking for an experienced, qualified General Practice Nurse, already competent in the following: Cervical Smears Leg ulcers and compression dressings Child and travel immunisations A willingness to train in Spirometry You must be registered with the NMC and have relevant experience of working in a primary care environment as a Practice Nurse. Ability to perform Spirometry to the latest ARTP standard will be advantageous, as would prior Chronic Disease Management experience. Due to our semi-rural location, having a reliable source of transport is essential. We are only 10 minutes from both Northampton and Olney.
