The role of aSupport Worker is pivotal to the safe and effective delivery of mental healthservices, supporting on the delivery of care packages and the assessment,treatment and rehabilitation of the individuals using our services. This willinclude providing emotional support, assisting with activities of daily livingand advocating for the individuals who use our services. The role is alsoimperative to ensuring that working practices are safe and effective, throughimplementation of risk management plans, supervision, continuous professionaldevelopment and reflection. We'recurrently considering candidates for inpatient acute, inpatient rehabilitation, community rehabilitation (Hope Court) and the integrated Access Team (which encompasses single point of access,crisis and hospital liaison). Specificduties and responsibilities vary depending on the specific role and service,however all of our support workers and senior support workers are supported bya team of qualified professionals. Duties include: To develop knowledge andunderstanding of the lived experience of people in your care so that you canprovide the right support that will meet their own identified needs. To advocate for your serviceusers so that they are at the forefront of designing their own mental healthcare and support and so that their voice is heard at all levels. To develop supportive andcaring relationships with individual service users and to provide daily supportthrough encouragement, understanding and motivation. To deliver prescribed 1:1 andgroup interventions within the scope of the support plan, with care andcompassion, this may include but this list is not exhaustive: I. Budgeting, benefits andwelfare rights III. Planning, shopping andcooking of meals IV. Education, occupation,training and development VI. Activities of daily living VII. Administering of oralmedication VIII. Rest, relaxation andvocation To provide updates to seniorstaff of individuals mood, behaviour, interaction, motivation and mental healthso that plans of care can be reviewed accordingly. Sensitively supportindividuals with activities of daily living with the goal to meet these needsand enhance these essential living skills. To work with and without direct supervision. Help identify early signs ofrelapse and regression by monitoring the individual's progress, level offunctioning and mental state and alert the appropriate staff involved in thepersons care. Knowledge

For Support Workers: A foundation knowledge of mental health. For Senior Support Workers: Two years' applied knowledge of the Mental. Health Act 1983 and mental Capacity Act 2005. A keen interest in mental health, as evidenced by research on the subject. Knowledge of benefits and housing systems. Qualifications

For Support Workers: Care certificate, or prepared to work towards completion of this within two years. GCSE or equivalent qualification (level 2) in Maths and English. For Senior Support Workers: NVQ level 3 or equivalent or Care Certificate. Medications administration training. Mental Health First Aid. First Aid. IT or equivalent qualification to level 2. Experience

For Support Workers: No experience necessary. For Senior Support Workers: Three years' experience working in a health & social care environment. Experience supervising junior colleagues. Experience working in a mental health setting. Experience effectively communicating with people who have additional needs in this respect. Additional Requirements

Able to work shifts, covering days and some nights, weekends and bank holidays. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
