We are currently looking for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Older Adult Occupational Therapy Inpatient team on Jasmine ward, Dartford. You will lead up an Occupational Therapy team on Jasmine ward, being part of the MDT, supporting & developing therapeutic interventions and providing Occupational therapy assessment and treatment. This is an exciting time as we move forward with a new integrated ward model promoting therapeutic interventions, supporting recovery and improving patient experience. Occupational Therapy is valued as a core part of the MDT and the post holder will be working in a team with a variety of professionals. There is an opportunity to develop skills in occupational therapy as well as wider team functions. The right candidate should be able to support junior team members and take a lead in the management of the Occupational therapy work across the team. The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010). Main duties of the job

We are looking for an Occupational therapist with experience, skills and an interest in working with service users who have complex mental health needs on an inpatient setting. You must have some experience of working with mental health service users as a qualified practitioner. We are looking for a practitioner with good communication and liaison skills who is forward thinking and enthusiastic regarding innovative ways of working. You will be part of a group of Occupational therapists within the larger team and will be supported by Occupational Therapy Clinical Lead. You will also have the opportunity to provide supervision and support to junior Occupational therapy staff. Job responsibilities

Qualifications

HCPC Registered Degree in Occupational Therapy Trained as a Practice Educator Experience

Experience completing OT assessment and group work skills Experience working in mental health Experience of managing a caseload Experience of delivering clinical supervision Knowledge and Skills

Team working and with other professionals Developing other staff including preceptees Knowledge of and ability to apply national policies and procedures including but not limited to confidentiality, consent, risk management, service user involvement. Knowledge in the application of relevant OT theoretical models, and approaches relevant to service user group. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
