We are recruiting several Early Help Practitioners for a client within Durham, who has ongoing requirements for the next few months, ideally on a full-time basis.

The hourly rate of £15.09 will be paid via an umbrella company.

The role of an Early Help Practitioner is vast, and the client wouldn't expect you to do all of it - for example, you will not be allocated pre-birth intervention work. Most of the work will be covering Groups, some casework depending on experience, organisation of the Family Hubs, supporting delivery of other groups and services within the Family Hub.

This role would suit a newly Qualified Social Worker.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Work in partnership with children, young people, their families and carers providing direct help and interventions to families that contribute to meaningful positive change. This may include supporting families to make and attend appointments, modelling appropriate actions and behaviours and assisting the necessary day to day activities that enable families to progress and maintain positive outcomes. To work with parents and carers to enable them to identify, acknowledge and meet their own and their children's needs, develop life skills, make and sustain effective change and build resilience. Support the improvement of family relationships and parents understanding of their responsibilities for their children's safety and well-being by planning and delivering programmes to children, young people, parents and carers. These may be evidence-based programmes e.g. Incredible Years, Triple P, Strengthening Families, or group sessions e.g. Chill Kids, Teen Zone, Stay and Play. Maintain accurate records of activity and contribute to reports.

What we need from you:

Level 3 qualification in a relevant children's services field is essential, level 4 of a degree would be desirable. Be able to demonstrate previous experience within in a similar children's service. Great report writing skills. Access to a car, as driving between two sites may be required.
