An exciting opportunity has arisen with a Firm of Accountants with offices in Colchester, for an Audit Semi-Senior to join their friendly and bustling team. The salary on offer is between £28,000 - £38,000 depending on the level of experience.
This Firm has tripled in size over the course of 2 years and whilst they deal with large, listed clients, PIEs, international groups and well-known brands, they also deliver on the OMBs, SMEs, Charities and Schools. Meaning you will gain full exposure to a wide range of client sizes and industries. This office, although part of a Top 20 Firm and an international network, promises to offer you a genuine work-life balance. They offer hybrid and flexible working options and do not expect you to work overtime. However, if you do, you will be compensated with paid overtime or TOIL.
Responsibilities: As an Audit Semi-Senior, you will… Complete whole sections of the audit pack in accordance with procedures and occasionally on smaller jobs act as senior, delegate to juniors and complete the whole file including notes/queries for Partner/Director/Manager. Complete all substantive tests with minimal supervision, delegate some elements of testing to more junior members of staff where appropriate, and design specific tests if appropriate. Prepare clear logical schedules, fully cross-referenced to supporting documentation and other sections of the audit file, ensuring that all amounts agree to lead schedules and the accounts.
Requirements: As an Audit Semi-Senior, you will need… Studying professional stage ACA or ACCA, or AAT qualified and wishing to study professional stage ACA or ACCA - with experience in practice. Previous Audit experience within a Practice, including planning. Double entry bookkeeping skills. Basic tax knowledge - how to prepare corporation tax computations. Computer experience - Sage, Excel, Word and ideally CaseWare.
