Position: Early Years Practitioner Hours: 40 hours per week Working Hours: Varying shift patterns between 8.00am - 6.00pm Drayton House Nursery School is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic, competent, and confident individual with relevant experience to join our friendly team as an Early Years Practitioner. Responsibilities include carrying out general key worker duties, planning exciting activities that engage children, and attending to their physical and emotional needs while promoting their development. This position is for our Kindergarten room, catering to the 2-3 years age group. Our nursery operates from 8.00am to 6.00pm, and we require flexibility in working hours to accommodate varying shifts. We value our staff and provide numerous opportunities for professional development and internal promotion. Requirements and Skills:
Full and relevant Level 3 childcare qualification - essential Fluent in written and spoken English - essential Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years - desirable Knowledge of the Statutory Framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - desirable About Us:
Our nursery has a clearly defined curriculum unique to our setting, focusing on independence and building essential skills for children's educational journeys. We provide a nurturing environment for parents leaving their child for the first time, with small class sizes ensuring personal attention. Our Kindergarten features a garden space for exploration and physical activity. Our preschool rooms balance free play with focused small group and one-on-one activities to prepare children holistically for school. We have a low staff turnover, with many team members having been with us for over 20 years, contributing valuable experience to our curriculum. We offer three inset days per year for staff training and development, with various training options available. We are committed to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A Disclosure and Barring Service Certificate will be required for all posts, subject to enhanced checks as part of our Prevent Duty.
