A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to work at Amersham Hospital providing assessment, acute rehabilitation and timely discharge for patients transferred from the acute hospitals.
Main duties of the job
This is a multi-skilled post requiring experience in acute medical discharge planning, neurology, amputees, falls and other pathologies.
You will work under the Band 7 Therapists and alongside Band 6 Therapists and Band 3 clinical support workers.
You will work jointly with the patients, physiotherapists, nurses and community teams both on the ward and sometimes the client's home to enable the clients to be discharged.
We also work at weekends at Stoke Mandeville or Wycombe Hospital.
This post is part of a very friendly, supportive and dynamic Therapy department with integrated individual supervision, appraisal, CPD and in-service training.

Essential Current registration with Health Professions Council Diploma /Degree in Occupational Therapy Evidence of CPD in the form of a detailed personal development portfolio
Desirable Specific formal courses appropriate to post speciality Membership of professional special interest group Field work/clinical educators course
EXPERIENCE
Essential Experience of a junior rotational Occupational Therapy post in the NHS Attendance at post graduate courses in related fields and demonstrates reflective learning Knowledge of areas of clinical governance including quality audit and risk management Knowledge and application of evidence based practice and clinical reasoning Experience of managing own caseload and prioritizing Previous experience of a broad rotational scheme Ability to work and interact effectively within an interdisciplinary team and contribute to decision making Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development, and reflective practice
