We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Technician Specialist Education and Training to cover maternity leave for a fixed 12 months, who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients. Your role will include managing all aspects of the pre-registration pharmacy technicians workforce, liaising with external organisations and ensuring robust plans and timetables are in place. You will also be responsible for managing the educational element of the apprenticeships and Science and Manufacturing programmes. To manage and co-ordinate the Level 4 Higher Education Certificate in Pharmacy Technician Practice or equivalent for Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPTs). To manage and co-ordinate the Level 2 apprenticeship in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent for Pharmacy Support Workers. To act as the Internal Quality Assurer (IQA) for the Level 3/4 and 2 qualifications in pharmacy services, and to organise the course trainers and assessors to ensure assessments are completed within the timeframes required. To plan, organise and co-ordinate training for the level 2/3/4 qualifications in pharmacy services. To be the Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) facilitator ensuring candidates are progressing appropriately and maintaining high standards. To line manage all PTPTs. To carry out general dispensing, distribution and associated pharmaceutical duties for the East & North Hertfordshire NHS Trust (ENHT). To produce and implement policies and procedures in line with national education and training standards. To support the Medicines Management team with clinical work at ward level. To train and assess Pharmacy Technicians, Pre-registration Pharmacists, junior pharmacists, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals in the medicines management process. To act as an accredited final checker in the dispensary and on designated wards. About us

Qualifications / Training

Registered with GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician Accreditation in medicines management IQA Train the Trainer certificate Previous Experience

Demonstrates significant and appropriate post qualification experience working as a hospital pharmacy technician including working as a MMPT and line management Training and presentations Liaising with clinicians or senior staff Experience in developing and implementing SOPs Project management Audits - participating in and leading on Management of staff Leading recruitment and selection of Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians and Assistants Knowledge

Excel spreadsheets - minimum intermediate level Proven good clinical knowledge Dispensing Pharmaceutical Law Pharmaceutical Practice Hospital Pharmacy Practice Drug Distribution Patient Counselling CPD record Good knowledge of apprenticeship course processes and technician CPD courses Skills

Self-motivated Able to work to targets Able to motivate staff Able to present information at senior level Disclosure and Barring Service Check
