We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated children's nurse to join our established and supportive team for a 12-month maternity leave cover. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our Children's Diabetes Service, providing expert care to children with diabetes across both hospital and community settings. The role requires you to work across a broad geographical area and offer flexibility to meet the service's needs. This includes after-school visits, home visits, and, once competent, participation in our out-of-hours on-call service. You will also be responsible for delivering up-to-date education to carers, healthcare professionals, and external agencies involved in the child's care. As part of the Children's Diabetes Multidisciplinary Team, you will deliver specialist nursing care to children with diabetes, their families, and carers. Your responsibilities will include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based nursing care for children and young people with diabetes. You will provide expert clinical care for patients, while also supporting and mentoring other staff to enhance their competencies in diabetes management. Additionally, the role involves teaching and training both clinical staff and patients. You will work collaboratively across primary and community care settings, as well as liaise with other specialists within the acute setting. Qualifications

RSCN/RN Dip HE Child Branch Relevant post registration qualification in Diabetes (or willingness to undertake) Experience

2 Years Post registration experience ideally within an environment that cares for children and young people with Diabetes. Additional Criteria

Able to demonstrate a good standard of English language. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
