Job Opportunity: SENDCo - Harrow-Based School - January 2025 Start An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate SENDCo to join a progressive and supportive school in Harrow. This role is ideal for a committed individual eager to lead and develop the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities. Key Responsibilities: Take on the role of SENDCo, overseeing and managing all aspects of SEND provision to ensure students receive the support they need to thrive. Coordinate and maintain Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs) while ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice. Act as the primary SENDCo contact for parents, carers, and external agencies, fostering a collaborative approach to supporting students. Provide training and guidance to teachers and support staff, promoting effective strategies for SEND inclusion within classrooms. Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and strategies, ensuring the SENDCo provision meets the highest standards. Lead on creating and implementing whole-school strategies to enhance SEND provision and student outcomes. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a National Award for SEND Coordination (or willingness to work towards it). Previous experience as a SENDCo or in a leadership role focusing on SEND within a school setting. In-depth understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant statutory requirements.
