The Role: Works in close partnership with nominated staff from Tasmania Police and Ambulance Tasmania to provide a timely response to people experiencing mental health emergencies in the community. Provide early and immediate advanced mental health assessment and treatment where joint police, ambulance and clinician response is required for people experiencing mental health crises in the community. Actively engage with the consumer, their family/carer and a range of community managed organisations and key internal and external stakeholders including Tasmania Police and Ambulance Tasmania co-responders in attendance to ensure the delivery of high quality, safe, person and family centred care. Facilitates training and education opportunities to relevant police and ambulance staff to enhance overall mental health literacy and increase capacity to manage mental health crises occurring in the community. The Team: This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an acute care multidisciplinary team delivering high quality mental health services in accordance with the principles of recovery orientated and trauma informed care, a primary health model, Agency policy and direction, legal and ethical requirements, and relevant professional competencies. Mental Health Emergency Response in the North utilises a PACER model where a clinician, paramedic and police officer, co-responding to mental health matters in the community received by Tasmania Police and Ambulance Tasmania. Details of appointment: Multiple fixed term, full time and part time, shift worker (fully rotational) positions, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of sixteen (16) months. MHERN operates a single 10-hour shift which commences at 1pm and finishes at 11pm, 7 days a week. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant. Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies. Salary:

$111,506 to $118,336 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount. Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023. Allowances: You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Professional Development Allowance of up to $500 per annum. Benefits available to eligible candidates: Professional development and accelerated pathways. Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible. Fitness Passport – You, and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family. Eligibility: Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse. Current Drivers Licence.
