There is now an opportunity for a pragmatic and down to earth Health, Safety & Wellness Manager to lead the Health & Safety Culture across the business, fostering collaboration with a focus on best practice and continuous improvement. Based in Christchurch and reporting to the Chief People Officer, this will be a diverse role with a lot of variety and a good broad range of stakeholder groups to get alongside and work with. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop strong Health & Safety culture and best practice across the SKOPE Group Ensure SKOPE meets Health & Safety and compliance requirements to regulatory and industry standard and company policies, procedures and standards Build effective relationships across the business with its diverse work teams of employees at all levels, both local and overseas Be a trusted advisor to the Chief People Officer, SMT and wider SKOPE workforce Continuous improvement and delivery of Health & Safety initiatives Occasional travel to Auckland and Sydney and presenting to the Board What We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate will have solid experience in Health & Safety, knowledge of the Act and its requirements, a proven track record and above all, highly effective interpersonal skills. This is a very hands-on role which will suit a pragmatic person who builds and maintains relationships and who is a team player with the capacity to work autonomously and create a plan to achieve objectives. A key part of the role will be covering critical risk and so somebody with a good level of commercial nous and understanding of operations (the core business) and realises that Health & Safety is a part of the wider business, along with the all-important people engagement skills, will be ideal.
