Are you: A Nursing or Health / Social Care graduate, currently registered with an appropriate Health & Social Care Regulatory Body? Experienced in Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults? Able to convey complex information in a variety of appropriate methods, ranging from Senior Managers to patients who lack capacity? Able and prepared to be based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital site in King's Lynn for 5 days a week? Ready to move into a senior role supporting the lead professional in safeguarding for adults and children in an NHS hospital, and deputising for the Lead Safeguarding Professional when required?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with relevant skills, experience and knowledge to join the Corporate Nursing Safeguarding Team at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital NHS Trust (QEHKL) on a permanent basis.

Main duties of the job The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner who will offer specialist knowledge, advice and supervision to QEHKL colleagues who are working within the hospital. You will work closely with the Named Professional to deliver the Trust's statutory requirements and safeguarding agenda. You will be working as part of an integrated children’s and adults safeguarding team and provide support and advice to practitioners within the Trust who are dealing with cases of actual or suspected abuse of children and adults. Provide safeguarding supervision to staff in line with the Trust safeguarding supervision policy. Actively participate in the delivery of the safeguarding training strategy and ongoing development of safeguarding children and adults training. Participate in the ongoing development of collaborative working in relation to safeguarding children and adults with other agencies. Contribute to ensuring that the Trust meets its statutory responsibilities in relation to Section 11 of The Children Act 2004, Care Act 2014, Mental Health Act 2003 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Registration with a Professional Body i.e. NMC, social work England

Desirable Evidence of short courses at master's Level or equivalent Participation on a Leadership programme Completion or willingness to undertake a Safeguarding Supervision Course

Experience Essential Extensive post-registration experience and significant experience in safeguarding/ and working with complex child/adult protection issues. Experience of collaborative inter-agency working

Desirable Experience of undertaking research

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge Essential Awareness of quality assurance and clinical governance processes in relation to safeguarding. Ability to offer safeguarding advice and support to QEH staff within own sphere of competence. This will include the ability to empower, challenge constructively and provide a learning environment as necessary. In depth knowledge and understanding of current safeguarding children legislation and guidance (The Children Act (2004) and working together to safeguard children (2023)). Knowledge of current adult safeguarding legislation and guidance, including The Care Act (2014), The Mental Capacity Act (2005) and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (2009)
