We are looking for a senior project manager to join our team and lead a programme support team to help plan, coordinate, monitor, and assess the impact of our regional elective care improvement programme. The regional elective care improvement team supports our ICBs with elective care recovery and the delivery of elective care clinical improvement programmes including outpatient transformation and elective productivity (GIRFT). You will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership, oversight, coordination, resource management, reporting, and impact assessment of our regional elective care improvement programme. This will include supporting the wider team with the development, management, and reporting of programme plans. Additionally, ensuring progress is tracked and reported on our Aspyre digital project management system and risks and issues are identified, managed, and escalated as appropriate. This is an exciting and varied role offering the opportunity to influence and manage a range of high-profile improvement projects and programmes to benefit patients, support regional elective care recovery, and embed an improvement approach to programme management. There is the scope for the post holder to further influence and shape this role and function and continue to develop the existing operating model. Main duties of the job

We are looking for candidates who have extensive programme management experience and a track record of coordinating and managing the resources and reporting for multiple projects in a health and social care environment. This role requires an individual to work proactively and on their own initiative, with the ability to manage integrated programmes of work. The ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with competing priorities will be a necessary requirement. Curiosity and a desire to explore how we can continuously seek to improve how we deliver our work are assets we are looking for. We work across a wide range of stakeholders including national teams, other regional Directorates, ICBs, Trusts, as well as clinicians and operational leads, so excellent communication and relationship-building skills are necessary. The use of data and information to inform and track our work plans and impact are essential and a good working knowledge of how to use and visualise data to demonstrate progress and impact, working in partnership with our regional data analysts is important for this role. A good working knowledge of national and regional elective care priorities to support elective care recovery based on relevant national programmes including GIRFT (Get It Right First Time), the National Elective recovery programme, improvement approaches, and methodologies is desirable. Experience/Education

Significant experience of managing programmes and delivering them within agreed timescales and budgets. Experience of working in a portfolio and/or programme management environment including the use of digital programme management tools. Previous experience of matrix working across organisations. Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to role. Knowledge

Must understand the background to and aims of current elective care recovery healthcare policy and appreciate the implications of this. Knowledge and experience of delivering improvement methodologies and approaches. Skills

Ability to effectively plan and think strategically and analyse and resolve problems in a multi-disciplinary environment. Good analytical skills with an ability to analyse and consider complex information and develop a range of options.
