Job Title: Senior Project Manager

Thorn Baker has teamed up with a national award-winning civils contractor who is looking for a dedicated and skilled Senior Project Manager to join our Major Projects Team. Day in, day out, their teams deliver some of the UK's most ambitious, exciting, and meaningful projects; developing, building, and maintaining the vital infrastructure that supports national economies and strengthens communities.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead and inspire a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team toward achieving shared goals. In this pivotal role, you will identify and implement the most effective strategies to meet customer and project objectives while managing constraints in time, cost, quality, scope, risk, and benefits. Your leadership will ensure success across all facets of project delivery.

Required Skills:

Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale civil engineering projects. Strong knowledge of standard contract forms and their application. Skilled in commercial and project management communication. Experienced in implementing safe work systems and practices. In-depth understanding of performance evaluation methods and key performance metrics. Demonstrated problem-solving ability with a solution-oriented approach. Valid CSC card. Proven experience working on a tunnelling project (desirable).

Your Responsibilities:

Produce programme of works and detailed schedules. Assist the team to develop construction methodology, SSHEQ procedures, RAMS, and ITPs. Obtain suitable resources (Labour, Subcontractors, Plant, and Materials) to execute the work. Assist the commercial team to develop forecast budgets and manage actual costs. Assess programme and productivity achieved and review weekly, acting where appropriate and reporting any changes. Ensure handover information is being produced in readiness for handover.
