Principal Town Planner

Key Responsibilities As a Principal Town Planner, you will:
Lead Planning Projects:
Take charge of complex planning projects, using your broad knowledge and experience to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients. Manage Planning Applications:
Oversee and process planning applications, providing strategic advice and producing detailed reports and recommendations. Prepare and Present Appeals:
Represent clients by preparing and presenting evidence for planning appeals. Mentor and Support Teams:
Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff, ensuring a clear understanding of current planning issues and legislation. Drive Business Development:
Play a key role in business development, fostering repeat work, and contributing to the company's growth. Client Relations:
Maintain excellent communication with clients, ensuring that reports and recommendations are delivered professionally and on time. Key Requirements The ideal candidate will:
Hold a degree in a town planning discipline and ideally be a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). Have 5+ years of relevant experience in either the Local Authority or private sector, with a proven ability to handle complex planning projects. Be able to manage multiple projects and workloads independently, ensuring both commercial and contractual needs are met. Have in-depth knowledge of planning legislation and the ability to apply it across various planning sectors. Possess strong leadership qualities, with the ability to mentor junior staff and lead by example. Be ambitious and eager to enhance the company's reputation for innovation, quality, and timeliness in delivering planning solutions.
