My client is a reputable building company that specialises in full-service design & build construction and interior fit-out works, including carpentry and joinery. They are looking for an experienced Contracts Manager with a Carpentry & Joinery background to join their experienced team. As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the full control and delivery of multiple carpentry/joinery packages to meet customer requirements (quality, cost, time, etc.) such that all health and safety, budget, quality, risk, programme, customer and business objectives are met in full. The majority of projects are in London only, and full travel will be expensed for site visits. Main Accountabilities: Project manage the delivery of multiple carpentry/joinery packages from design responsibilities through to handover and completion. Oversee and ensure that any FIRAS contracts follow the correct installation and paperwork procedures. Manage site managers/supervisors, direct labour and subcontractors; monitor site management activities and provide direct assistance and support as necessary. Maintain contact details for the labour resources pool. Advertise and vet labour, assist with tender labour rates. Adopt, uphold and manage prescribed operation procedures. Create and sustain a culture and working environment that drives employee satisfaction. Manage liaisons, interfaces and contact with customers and stakeholders such that positive and ongoing customer relationships are maintained. Manage all correspondence related to the project and seek to suitably deal with matters arising from such correspondence. Ensure that materials and resources are procured, delivered and managed in such a way that promotes the smooth delivery of each works package. Ensure that safe working practices and safety procedures are fully implemented across the packages. Ensure that RAMS and QA documents are written to meet requirements of the project and employer. Chair site meetings; progress meetings, project reviews with customers, subcontractors and/or suppliers. Be responsible for the safety and welfare of all staff and subcontractors within their control under the strict observance of the Contract’s safety policy. Carefully manage resources in order to best facilitate programme requirements on all live projects. Manage the design process of Contractors Designed Portion where applicable. Key Competencies/Training: Good organisation skills. SMSTS. Project Manager or Academically qualified CSCS card. FIRAS certified to inspect fire doors with a full understanding of the process and procedures involved in installation of fire doors on site. Good communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels. Ability to work under pressure when required. IT Literate, experience of Microsoft Excel and Word packages. Understanding and experience of using document control systems (specifically Asite). Additional Information: 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays on top), Paid Travel, Pension and 4x salary Life Insurance.
