About the Role The Team consists of Health and Wellbeing Assessors, Social Workers, Experienced Social Workers, Advanced Social Workers and a Team Manager. In the context of developing our services to continue to meet the challenges of the Care Act 2014 and the financial climate, Croydon Council is restructuring community-based integrated working with our health colleagues. The Locality Team Manager will lead the team in new ways of working to meet the desired outcomes of individuals and their communities jointly with our health colleagues and other stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Be responsible for the operational management of the social workers for a locality-based Integrated Care Team. Manage social workers to work effectively as part of an integrated, skill-mixed, and multi-disciplinary team focusing on community-led support, proactive, and preventative services to residents, carers, and communities in Croydon. Work closely with the Service Manager, council colleagues, and other external professionals to provide information and deliver social care to residents. Oversee the professional standards of the social workers within the locality-based team, managing risk & performance, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and statutory guidance. Contribute to the strategic development of the service and work with others across social care, integrated care networks, and other agencies. Develop effective quality assurance, demand, and workload management systems. Manage the locality residents and staffing budget with the support of the accountant and senior management. Ensure health and safety for oneself and for the staff, residents, and communities. Candidates will demonstrate professionalism, creativity, and drive in their approach to person-centred practice and problem-solving. Applicants will demonstrate exceptionally strong social work practice skills and sound knowledge of key legislation and aspirations to extend their practice experience and skills. Candidates at this level will be expected to show evidence of completion of relevant post-qualification awards, as well as capacity to take on some leadership and supervisory responsibilities around safeguarding triaging.
