This is an exciting opportunity for a Member Support Officer to join our Legal and Democratic Services Team! In this role, you will play a pivotal role in providing excellent support to Council Members in delivering their community leadership role and in undertaking their duties as ward Councillors. As a Member Support Officer, you will assist elected Members in communicating with their constituents, council officers, outside bodies, and agencies as well as provide support to elected Members in the use of information technology to facilitate effective working and communications. You will also provide effective administrative support for meetings and ensure that agendas are prepared and distributed in a timely manner. As a keen administrator, you will attend meetings to take minutes, before preparing and distributing them as necessary. Who we are looking for… We are looking for a candidate who is highly organised, efficient, and ready to take on a diverse range of secretarial and administrative responsibilities. To excel in this role, you should hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification or demonstrate equivalent experience in a relevant field. In addition to your professional skills, you will be expected to maintain political neutrality when working with Members, displaying exceptional political awareness and sensitivity in all interactions.
